Keeping Up Appearances

Men's Fashion

Winter is upon us, and bundling up is no excuse to drop your guard. I’m delighted to give you some tips for looking good while braving the cold. Layering is the name of the game. That being said, don’t hate the layer, play the game. With vests and sweaters at your fingertips, you’re sure to hit a homerun. Some of these charming pieces are so lightweight and made with the finest fabric and knit, they can be layered not only under your jacket or pea coat, but under your suits as well.

Another trend on the scene is monochromatic or tone-on-tone dressing.  This is a not-so-new trend, but it still resonates. The versatility is noteworthy, with tones ranging from gun metal and midnight blue to deep, rich aubergene and oranges. This look is edgy, sophisticated and adds an air of mystery.  This style covers you for that meeting with colleagues or late rendezvous with friends.

There has been a lot of debate over the tie versus bow tie. Not every man is comfortable with the bow tie and it makes me wonder if the apprehension stems from not knowing how to tie it. Would you like to know how? If so, your wish is my command. I’ve removed the stumbling block. For those aspiring designers, be eco-friendly and recycle an old tie. Have your tailor turn it into a bow. http://generalknot.com/pages/how-to-tie-a-bow-tie

Whether your arena is political, corporate, trading, entertainment or the private sector, are you ready for your close up?  The decision is yours. Oh, one more thing.  Don’t skimp on your time piece.  First impressions will be lasting impressions.  Your watch will show what time it is in every respect when rubbing shoulders with movers and shakers. You are generation success!
