Nicole, a lawyer by trade, but a businesswoman, first! Nicole owns and operates the Law Offices of Nicole M. Bluefort with two office locations in Lynn and Downtown Boston.
As a trailblazer in her own right, she didn’t set out to run one of New England’s most recognized firms and to be awarded local and national awards by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly ‘Top Women of Law’, National Bar Association's ‘40 Under 40 Nation's Best Advocate’, or The Network Journal's ‘40 Under Forty Achiever’.
After graduating law school, Nicole started her career as a judicial clerk at the Massachusetts Appeals Court working for Judge Frederick Brown, the first African-American appointed to the appeals court. When she finished her term, she applied for jobs, landed interviews, but was not receiving any offers after three months of waiting. It was at this point she says, “I took a leap of faith and created my own opportunity.”
Nicole’s practice philosophy is grounded in public service. After growing up in Lynn, leaving for college and returning, she noticed a diversity deficiency in local law firms, both in practice areas and ethnically. She remembered when she went off to law school; it was important for her to think about how she could come back to the City of Lynn and offer that diversity, a general practice with a full-range of services while being cost effective and accessible to the people in the community.
Nicole believes in giving back to the community and is known for her vast philanthropic work and volunteer activities. Furthermore, she makes time to serve on the board of the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston and was appointed by Governor Baker to the Board of Trustees at North Shore Community College.
Congratulations Nicole M. Bluefort for being an Ethnic GEM!
